Noah and me

I started a new bible reading plan and was in Genesis 7 yesterday reading about Noah. I wish and pray all the time that my faith will grow and become stronger and greater. Noah built a boat (HUGE boat: almost 600 train cars long) in the middle of a place that had never seen rain, much less a flood to cover the whole earth. 7:8 says Noah did ALL the Lord commanded. He had taken years to build the ark and then he sat in it for almost a year with all these animals and people. All because God told him to. I wonder what he was thinking.

I’ve often had times where I felt like I was just sitting around in the boat waiting for God to call me out. Even now, I wait on God for my calling and his next steps in my life. However, in this boat things are growing. Fruits are multiplying like the animals did. My actions are birthing love, faith, and devotion. The praise I give God during this time is not stopping at the ceiling but reaching his ears and reminding him I’m still trying to follow as I wait on him. His blessings are still pouring down onto my longing, striving soul. One day the waters will recede, the doors will open and He will call me out onto a solid, firm path. He will lead me and all that has grown in me through this time out into the future and hope he has for me. It’s like how people talk about how great mountain tops are but all the growth comes in the valley. You just can’t always see it until you get to the top and look down upon its beauty.

I may not have been ready to do all God commanded when I went in the ark, but I have grown and will be much more able to obey when I come out. He may tell me to wait here for a while until things are ready outside of my ark but I know my relationship with him has already changed and will continue to grow stronger as I trust in him. I know he has beautiful things now and ahead to show me I just have to be willing to raise my head and look. 😀

Love from Jesus,

April

song of the day: True Love by Phil Wickham

Come close listen to the story
About a love more faithful than the morning
The Father gave His only Son just to save us

The earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt the Fathers Broken Heart
Tears were filling Heaven’s Eyes
The day that True Love died, the day that True Love died
When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn’t move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Search your heart you know you can’t deny it
Come on, lose your life just so you can find it
The Father gave His only Son just to save us

The Earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt The Fathers broken heart
Tears were filling Heaven’s Eyes
The day that True Love died, the day that True Love died
When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn’t move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Now, Jesus is alive

Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
Oh, He is alive
He rose again

When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn’t move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that True Love died, The day that True Love died

Come close listen to the story

  1. I’m on a bible-reading plan, too. This is the ESV Study Bible plan, and it is working so far. I say working, of course ITS working. What I meant to say is that, so far, I’m sticking to it. One of the things I love most is that the most important truths are the simplest, but you can mine the depths of Scripture for decades and never run out of deeper truths. Keep reading!
